About Me

About Me!

• I am Mom to 3 teenagers: boy/girl twins who are 18 and a 17-year old daughter. They are my favorite people and without them I would be very boring indeed. They keep me on my toes and on my knees.
• I am a Senior Adjunct Professor and freelance writer.
I’m a deep thinker who regularly has to work at improving my sense of humor! I’m the girl in the room who waaaay over-thinks a joke. I’ll get it about a half hour later – if at all!
• To make up for my natural tendency to view life seriously, and to overcompensate for my slow sense of humor, I act silly at home. Really silly. Okay, my oldest daughter would say “weird”.
• My favorite book? The Bible. I am covered in His grace.
• I think libraries, snail mail, and hand-written notes are still cool.
• Taking photos is a favorite hobby. When the kids were little, I was an avid scrapbook-er. Now I’m Shutterfly’s best customer.
• Reading is a joy. I’m a non-fiction reader…pen, highlighter and post it notes in hand!
• I’m a bit of a national news addict.
• Grateful to be an American – I am especially grateful to the service men and women who defend and protect my family’s freedom.
• Thank you for reading this last line and for visiting my blog! I appreciate it very much! 🙂

Your story and precious Lydia touched my heart when I discovered your blog. Thank you for coming over to mine and writing me a message. I always say if I’m doing “fiction” that means that I’m sitting in front of the TV! 🙂 Thank you for following.

Thanks for stopping by Sweeter Than Honey! I saw the notification earlier today and wasn’t in a place where I could peruse your own lovely blog. But I’ve been waiting all day to do so. What a treat! We have several things in common! I have 15 ½ year-old boy/girl twins and a 14 year old daughter. 🙂 Life with teens is fast-paced … and tons of fun … albeit exhausting! I’m looking forward to learning more about you and your relationship with our precious Savior!

Hi there. I am also a mom to three amazing kids…all boys, ages 10, 14, 16. Like you, I love the Lord, enjoy reading, and spending time with my family. (They are my favorite.) My husband is a part of the U.S. Army, and we are a proud military family, that also loves the privileges that come with being an American. I think you have a great blog. I can’t wait to see more.

Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.

My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

I am so happy to discover that you are following my blog! I so enjoy making my followers my friends, so you’ve gained another follower too. (I can tell by your brilliant smile that you are as beautiful on the inside as you are on the out.)

I am also pleased to discover that you enjoy non-fiction because I just heard that my new book, targeted toward women’s bible studies and motivating women toward true health, is “Life’s Too Short to Eat Bad Cheese . . .” (nutritional and life lessons God teaches us) should be published around July. I should be making an initial announcement in a month or so. Please pray it is well received for God’s glory and not my own. Blessings,

Hello, Moma Duck! Thanks for liking my new blog and becoming a follower. Even though it’s a little late in my day, I am really enjoying reading your blog entries. I’ll be trying out some of those quick “yummy” recipes. I am a post-it junkie too, and I’m addicted to highlighting all my non-fiction spiritual formation books. Keep smiling….there are still a few good-doers out there. Glad I ran across one! I totally can relate to the lengthy online application process. Good luck in the job hunt. Blessings!
